BUTTERFINGER, PEANUT BUTTER & CHOCOLATE HOT CHOCOLATE




Ingredients:
2 cups milk
2 ½ - 3 oz.  semi sweet baking chocolate  (for richer, thicker hot chocolate, use 3 oz.)
1/3 cup Peanut Butter Chips
½ teaspoon finely crushed Butterfinger Candy Bar
½ of a Butterfinger Candy Bar,crushed– for garnish
Whipping cream for garnish (optional)

Directions:
Pour milk into a small saucepan on medium low heat. Add the chocolate and the peanut butter chips. Add ½ teaspoon finely crushed (almost powder) Butterfinger Candy Bar.  Stir until the chocolate and peanut butter chips have melted and have combined with the milk.  Let the hot chocolate get to a low boil (but do not scorch), then turn off the heat and let cool slightly.  Pour into a mug.  Garnish with whipping cream and crushed Butterfinger pieces.

CREAMY HOMEMADE HOT CHOCOLATE







Ingredients:
1 half gallon chocolate milk
4 oz. Ghiradelli 60% chocolate baking bar, broken into chunks
 1 (11.5 oz) bag milk chocolate chips              
1 teaspoon powdered vanilla
1 handful white chocolate chips
Directions:

In a large pot, bring the chocolate milk to a boil, stirring constantlyTurn the heat to low and add the chocolate, white chocolate and vanilla.  Mix until combined and chocolate has melted.  Serve with whipping cream, peppermint chips, marshmallows, etc.  For a Halloween or Thanksgiving treat, mix 1 cup whipping cream, whipped and 2 -3  teaspoons pumpkin pie spice together.  Top your hot chocolate with some pumpkin spice whipping cream.

Alternate Recipe
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups milk
2 oz.  of a 70% cocoa chocolate bar*
¼ cup powdered sugar*
1 teaspoon vanilla*
Whipping cream for garnish (optional)
Cinnamon (for garnish – optional)
*Or use semi sweet baking chocolate, no powdered sugar and ½ - 1 ounce white baking chocolate instead of vanilla extract
Directions:
Chop chocolate into small pieces (or grate the chocolate with a chocolate grater or standard grater).  Pour milk into a small saucepan on medium low heat.  Add powdered sugar and vanilla.  Stir until sugar is dissolved.  Add the chopped or grated chocolate.  Stir until the chocolate has melted and is combined with the other ingredients.  Let the hot chocolate get to a low boil (but do not scorch), then turn off the heat and let cool slightly.  Pour into a mug.  Garnish with whipping cream.  Sprinkle a little cinnamon for pizzazz.

Creamy Hot Chocolate





HOMEMADE POWDERED HOT CHOCOLATE



Ingredients:
1 cup powdered milk (non fat dry milk)
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
8 tablespoons powdered sugar
 A splash of vanilla – if desired

Directions:
In a food processor or electric chopper, combine powdered milk, cocoa powder and sugar.  Process until it is a fine powder.

Pour 3 – 4 Tablespoons into a mug of hot water (use hot milk for a creamier treat) and stir until dissolved.  Add a little vanilla if desired. Garnish with whipping cream, sweetened cocoa powder and/or chocolate sprinkles (jimmies).  Enjoy.  Store in an airtight container for future use.
